The Big Event is Coney Island's Moonlite Gardens

·   Coney Island is a park that was loved by people who grew up in Cincinnati from the 1930's through the 1970's. Does that not fit the Woodward Class of 1959?

·        People were enjoying picnics at Coney Island before 1870 and over time Parker's Grove (as it was called) grew into Ohio Grove and finally Coney Island. 

·        It prospered for many years but closed after the 1971 season with many of the rides being moved to King's Island in Mason, Ohio. However, today it is, once again, forever growing to become a new family park with a great legacy.

·        Today, with roots extending back to 1867, Ohio's take on New York's classic park certainly has a historic ancestry embedded on the banks of the Ohio.  

·        Coney still retains many of its most beloved traditions, as a place of family memories both old and new. With the Park hosting, picnics, weddings, and many special events; it is still a place of laughter, music and entertainment for all ages.

·        Sunlight pool, the world's largest recirculating pool, is still there along with Lake Como and, of course, dancing under the stars in Moonlite Gardens.

The Woodward Class of 1959 will be able to stroll back through the past and reminisce over great memories at this treasure along the banks of the Ohio River.
