Farewell to a true one-of-a-kind character who was a kind and close friend of mine and Ken Richter's for just about 65 years from the day he walked onto the Hartwell School playground in the third grade.  Wiggs was a country boy and then a street kid who stood up for his buddies and was generous and loyal to everyone who became his friend over the years.

Ken, Brian Herrmann, and I plan a Bob Wigglesworth Memory Lane Night in 2015 to drink beer and tell the great stories that he helped generate as our friend starting in elementary school, through high school, into his air force days (he began spelling his name with only one "g" when the USAF messed up the spelling in their records and Bob did not want to bother getting it corrected; it remained "Wiglesworth" for the rest of his life--pure Wiggs!!) and then into our adulthood, such as it has been.  We will announce our plans and schedule for that evening and everyone in the Woodward Class of '59 will be welcome as will his other friends and his family.

For now, I am glad we got to see him at the reunion events (including the playground basketball game at the 25th) and most recently at the Reds game and 70th birthday party for our class.  He hadn't changed much, still funny, as always with a lovely woman who was too good for him (how did he do that?).  God bless you Wiggs.  RIP.  David DeBord.

I only knew Bob during our Woodward days, but I recall him as an all-around good guy.
