In Memory

Laurence Lazarus

Bob Silverman September 23, 2017

Sad to report that I just got the news from Shiela Meitus that Larry Lazarus died. He suffered from parkinsons disease. I don’t have any other details. I will always remember Larry as a wonderful guy!

Parkenson's desease can be very, very difficult--and sometimes long lasting.  May our classmate now rest in peace!

I was friends with Larry in High School and he "babied" me through several root canals in later years. I know he suffered in recent years and Elaine stood by him through it all. My deepest sympathies to Elaine and the rest of his family.

I can vividly remember Larry from our Woodward days, and regret how we lost touch over the years. He was kind, sweet, gentle, caring in a 1950s world where those were not the usual qualities of boyhood. I remember meeting his Mom, and their dog..Poochie. I do not think I ever met his father.

Even though  time, distance and circumstance kept us separate, I will never forget Larry.

Sad to hear that we have lost another classmate.  I remember Larry from school and also as a dentist where he served me well.  We will all miss him.

Larry and I have been friends from 2nd grade at Bond Hill  through his passing. We shared many incredible fun experiences together. A wonderful friend to me and so many others. RIP Larry

Larry and I have been friends since childhood - our mothers were BFF.  He has always been a great guy and wonderful friend.  He overcame polio at an early age and came to elementary school a little late in the game.  Since his mother was alway "Aunt" to me, I thought that we were cousins. When Larry came to class for the first time, the teacher introduced him and I said that I knew him - he was my cousin! He thought so too.  Even though I haven't seen him in many years, I miss the thought of him not being there.  Rest in peace, dear friend.

I am another old friend of Larry's.  I also went to grade school with him at Bond Hill, and was a high school and college fraternity brother.  One of my oldest memories was coming to his home near the old Bond Hill library.  We occasionally saw each other in Florida but lost touch during the years but I always remember Larry as a great person with a big heart--and possibly most of all as a very classy ruy.

I've known about his battle with Parkinson's and I know how debilitating Parkinson's can be.  I'm sure Larry always handled his situation with good grace and dignity.

Rest in peace, Larry.
